Rotomill 1/2" Crushed Asphalt

Eco-Friendly, Cost-Effective Ground Cover for Versatile Applications

Rotomill Crushed Asphalt – Sustainable Strength for Long-Lasting Surfaces

Rotomill 1/2" Crushed Asphalt is a sustainable and budget-friendly material made from recycled asphalt pavement. Perfect for a wide variety of projects, this compactable material offers durability, affordability, and a unique appearance that complements both residential and commercial landscapes.

Key Features:

  • Composition: Made from recycled asphalt, Rotomill is a sustainable choice that reuses materials from road construction and maintenance.
  • Particle Size: Crushed and screened to a 1/2" minus size, it includes both small particles and fines, ensuring excellent compaction and stability.
  • Color & Texture: Exhibits a mix of black and grey tones with a slightly rough texture, providing a visually distinct look that mimics fresh asphalt.

Benefits of Rotomill Crushed Asphalt:

  • Cost-Effective: An affordable alternative to traditional gravel or asphalt paving, making it an excellent choice for large-scale projects.
  • Eco-Friendly: Utilizes recycled materials, reducing waste and conserving resources.
  • Stability & Durability: The tar content in asphalt acts as a natural binder, creating a firm surface that resists shifting and erosion when compacted properly.
  • Low Maintenance: Once installed and compacted, it requires minimal upkeep and can last for years with proper care.
  • Weather Resistant: Provides a durable surface that holds up well under varying weather conditions, including heavy traffic and rain.

Ideal Use Applications:

  • Driveways: Offers a cost-effective solution for private and commercial driveways, providing a durable and attractive surface.
  • Parking Areas: Suitable for equipment yards, RV pads, and large parking lots.
  • Roadways: Ideal for secondary roads or as a base layer for asphalt paving.
  • Paths & Trails: Creates stable and eco-friendly walking or biking paths with a clean, compacted finish.

Important Considerations:

  • Compaction Required: For optimal performance, Rotomill should be compacted during installation to ensure a stable and long-lasting surface.
  • Surface Maintenance: Over time, some loose particles may appear; periodic re-compaction or additional layers may be required for high-traffic areas.
  • Water Drainage: Proper grading is essential to prevent pooling or water retention on the surface.

Best Results: For best results and to reduce weed growth, install rock around 2" - 3" deep over top of quality commercial grade weed barrier.

Recommended Depth Rule: The rule of thumb with rock is to install a rock atleast twice the size of the rock not going any less than 2" deep when using small rocks. With Rotomill though, the minimum recommended depth would be 3" deep. Going less will likely show the bare ground beneath the rock. You are welcome to place rock deeper than the minimum recommended.
