Iron Forged Slag 3/4"
Transform Your Landscape with Iron Forged Slag 3/4"
Iron Forged Slag 3/4" is a unique and durable material derived from recycled steel slag, perfect for both construction and landscaping applications. Its rough, angular texture and striking color palette—ranging from deep charcoal and black to lighter grey with occasional earthy accents—make it a versatile choice for enhancing the aesthetic and functional elements of your outdoor spaces.
Key Features:
- Size: Crushed to approximately 3/4 inch, Iron Forged Slag offers excellent compaction and stability, making it ideal for various landscaping and construction needs.
- Versatility: Suitable for driveways, pathways, parking lots, and xeriscaping, as well as base layers for pavers or retaining walls, this material serves multiple purposes with ease.
- Durability: Due to its high hardness, it ensures long-lasting performance, even in high-traffic areas or heavy-duty projects.
Benefits:
- Eco-Friendly Alternative: As a byproduct of steelmaking, Iron Forged Slag is a renewable, green mineral alternative to quarried rock like limestone, offering environmental benefits alongside its practical uses.
- Functional Performance: In addition to its visual appeal, Iron Forged Slag provides excellent drainage and erosion control, making it a practical solution for culverts, trench backfill, and gravel applications.
- Industrial Aesthetic: The dark, muted tones of Iron Forged Slag create a bold, modern edge that enhances both residential and commercial projects, adding rugged texture and a strong, industrial feel to any space.
Ideal Use Applications:
- Driveways & Parking Lots: Its tough, durable nature makes Iron Forged Slag perfect for driveways, parking lots, and farm lanes, providing a long-lasting surface that withstands heavy use.
- Xeriscaping & Garden Borders: Incorporate this material into xeriscaping designs or use it to create visually striking borders around garden beds, pathways, or patios.
- Base Layers & Foundations: Its stability and excellent compaction make it ideal as a base material for pavers, retaining walls, and other foundational structures.

Best Results: For best results and to reduce weed growth, install rock around 2" - 3" deep over top of quality commercial grade weed barrier.
Recommended Depth Rule: The rule of thumb with rock is to install a rock atleast twice the size of the rock not going any less than 2" deep when using small rocks. With a 3/4" rock, the minimum recommended depth would be 2" deep. Going less will likely show the bare ground beneath the rock. You are welcome to place rock deeper than the minimum recommended.

Notice: Rocks do not come clean. They may contain dust, small amounts of crushing fines, or some dirt stuck to the rocks. This is all due to the crushing or screening process. The images used are normally of the rocks after they have been cleaned off to showcase what the rocks will look like after rain, sprinklers, etc has cleaned them off. It is best to install rocks first, then rinse any dust or dirt off once installed.
